Nordex Informs About Potential 1 GW Record Order in Australia

Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE and Acciona Energía are about to reach an agreement in principle for the delivery of 180 wind turbines in the 5 MW class.

According to the Nordex, the advanced contract negotiations cover the delivery and installation of up to 180 Nordex N163/5.X wind turbines of the Delta4000 series.

The turbines are destined for Acciona Energía's MacIntyre wind development site in the Australian state of Queensland. The project development at this site includes the "MacIntyre" wind farm with an estimated capacity of 923 MW and the "Karara" wind farm with approx. 102.6 MW. The total capacity of the wind farm, which is scheduled to be operational by 2024, is approximately 1,026 MW.

The company expects negotiations to be concluded and definitive agreements signed in the next few weeks so that the projects will become firm orders before the end of 2021.
