Deutsche Windtechnik Wins Maintenance Contract for Senvion 6.2M

Bremen, Germany - Effective immediately, the independent service provider Deutsche Windtechnik AG will now also provide maintenance for Senvion's largest multi-megawatt class: the 6-MW power class.

The international asset management firm re:cap global investors ag, Zug, Switzerland, has commissioned the company to provide service for the Handewitt wind farm, which is equipped with two Senvion 6.2M126 wind turbines. According to Deutsche Windtechnik, the company now has all turbine classes manufactured by Senvion under service contract, including the complete MD and MM series, the 3.XM series and the 6.XM series.

"Senvion's insolvency is currently creating a strong demand for our service for a wide range of this manufacturer's turbine technologies, both onshore and offshore. Projects that have current, urgent issues in connection with our existing collaboration with Senvion are of particular importance," Matthias Brandt, Board Director at Deutsche Windtechnik, said regarding the situation. "Customers are looking for resilient, sustainable alternatives for continuing maintenance."

As the company points out, Deutsche Windtechnik has been active for several years as an independent maintenance provider for Senvion wind turbines, increasingly at an international level and also offshore. The company currently manages just under 300 Senvion turbines as part of basic or full service contracts. This includes sophisticated spare parts management, for example for large component replacement, up-tower repairs or retrofits.

"Only small numbers of Senvion's 6-MW class have been installed onshore. The turbine is mainly in use offshore. We are well-prepared for this and offer a complete range of services for Senvion's 6-MW power class in the offshore area," said Jens Landwehr, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore und Consulting.
