Deutsche Windtechnik Takes Over Service Provider GFW

Bremen, Germany - Effective 01 Januar 2020 Bremen based Deutsche Windtechnik AG has taken over the wind energy service provider GFW Gesellschaft für Windenergieanlagen GmbH & Co KG based in Rennerod.

By the take over the companies aim to strengthen their international growth and to increase their capacity to provide maintenance for wind turbines.

GFW will retain its name for the time being and will be structurally integrated as a unit under Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service. Holger Hämel and Severin Mielimonka, the Managing Directors at Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service, will jointly manage the business unit together with GFW Managing Director Jürgen Fuhrländer. GFW's headquarters will remain in Rennerod in Westerwald.

GFW focuses on classic turbine service, repair orders, expert opinions, troubleshooting, spare parts and engineering. The technological focus is on the manufacturers Fuhrländer, Senvion and Nordex. According to Deutsche Windtechnik, all of this perfectly complements the service portfolio and multi-brand competence of the full service provider. As Deutsche Windtechnik points out, furthermore the acquisition opens up numerous opportunities and interfaces. Many special projects will also benefit from the merger, such as large component replacement, dismantling of old turbines, special service deployments in foreign countries or the international spare parts business for selected technologies.
