Finland: Nordex Receives Order from Wpd for 188 MW Wind Power Capacity

Hamburg, Germany - With the Delta4000 series, Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has laid the foundation for the product range in the power class between 2.4 to 5.X MW. At the end of 2020, project developer Wpd has placed a major order for the N163/5.X, which will be delivered in 5.7 MW operating mode.

Wpd has ordered a total of 33 N163/5.X turbines for the Finnish wind farm project in northern Österbotten in western Finland. In this project, the Nordex Group is installing the turbines for the first time on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 159 meters. " We are excited to have another wind farm with Nordex state of the art wind turbines," says Heikki Peltomaa, Managing Director of Wpd Finland Oy. Wpd excepcts to have the wind farm operational by the end of 2022. The wind power will be supplied to UPM, Europe's largest paper company, on the basis of a private supply agreement (PPA).

Nordex stock continues to soar

The current boom in green stocks is visible in the RENIXX World, the global stock index for renewable energies. On last Wednesday (06.01.2021), the RENIXX climbed above the 2000 point mark. At the close of trading last week, the renewable stock market barometer is up 21.3 percent at 2244.29 points. Nordex stock, which is listed in the RENIXX, also climbed to a multi-year high in this positive market environment. Nordex stock is currently trading at over EUR 25, its highest level since 2016.
