Toronto, Canada - The Ministry for the Environment of the Canadian province Ontario has announced the pullout of the region from the offshore-wind energy.

Offshore-projects are no longer being authorized and respective projects are not considered for the program of feed-in tariffs. The announcement primarily refers to projects meant to be erected in the Big Seas between the USA and Canada. These projects are to be abandoned due to the lack of scientific insight concerning the conditions of offshore-projects in fresh water locations. Canada was going to work together with the US to make sure that the new concept of offshore-wind energy-projects was environmentally friendly as Minister of the Environment, John Wilkinson, stated.
