Climate Change And Energy Transition: Impacts on the Power Grids of the Guture Are Discussed

Darmstadt, Germany - Heat waves, cyber threats or floods - the power supply will have to cope with completely new challenges in the future.

The previous design of "robust grids (grid resilience)" may no longer be sufficient under the new conditions of extreme weather events, cyber threats and increasing sector coupling.

Above all, forward-looking planning, decentralised approaches, innovative concepts and digital technologies are needed to create greater system flexibility and thus also greater resilience, Energynauticus GmbH announced.

How the energy supply can be made more resilient will be discussed during the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week. Three conferences and workshops will be held in parallel in Berlin and virtually from 27 - 30 September 2021.

The national and international exchange of experience will be facilitated by the participation of transmission grid operators such as 50Hertz, Tennet, RTE, Amprion, REN, Fingrid, TransnetBW and distribution system operators.
