Standardisation: Nordex Obtains Important Certificates For Its 4 MW, 5 MW And 6 MW Wind Turbines
Hamburg, Germany - At Windenergy Hamburg last week, wind turbine manufacturer Nordex received three important product certificates for its 4-MW, 5-MW and 6-MW class turbines.
As investors, project planners and wind farm operators around the world rely on turbines certified in accordance with international standards, the he EC 61400-22 type certification is of particular importance for the international marketing of wind turbinestype. IEC certification is usually a prerequisite for tendering procedures for international wind energy projects. It is a recognised procedure and an essential step in the project certification process.
With the type certificates, the independent certifiers confirm the conformity of the calculated, theoretical designs of the N155/4.X and N163/5.X turbines with the values actually measured in the field. This confirms the performance behaviour, the mechanical loads during operation and the service life of the turbine type in different operating modes. The rotor blades of both turbines were also successfully certified for a service life of at least 20 years using a dynamic, physical rotor blade test.
The "Statement of Compliance for the Design Evaluation" for the turbine of the type N163/6.X of the 6 MW class from TÜV SÜD is as a certificate of compliance of the design and construction an initial, important prerequisite for the still pending IEC type certificate for this turbine type.
