Repowering With Enercon E-138 Turbines: Energiequelle And Alterric Implement Saxon Repowering Project With Enercon Turbines

Mittelherwigsdorf, Germany- Energiequelle GmbH has implemented a repowering project in Mittelherwigsdorf, Saxony, in cooperation with Alterric Deutschland GmbH. The new turbines have been spinning and feeding electricity into the grid for two weeks now.

Three new Enercon E-138 turbines with a capacity of 4.2 MW per turbine and a hub height of 160 m were installed. A total of three of the eight old existing E-40, E-66 and E-70 wind turbines were dismantled. According to Energiequelle, the repowering will increase electricity production at the three locations six-fold.

Energiequelle was responsible for the development and approval as well as the coordination and monitoring of the construction process in the cooperation project. Two plants were built for Alterric and one plant for Energiequelle. Energiequelle will also be responsible for the operational management of this plant in future.

Energiequelle GmbH operates internationally as a project developer and operator of wind energy, biomass and photovoltaic plants as well as transformer stations and storage facilities.
