Certification: Deutsche Windguard Integrates Environmental Management

Hamburg, Germany - Deutsche Windguard has successfully implemented and certified an environmental management system. Tobias Künne, Head of Corporate Governance at Deutsche Windguard, accepted the certificate (DIN EN ISO 14001:2015) from Christian Kockler, Managing Director of TÜV Austria Deutschland GmbH, at the industry's leading trade fair WindEnergy Hamburg 2024.

"As one of the most comprehensive service providers in the wind energy industry, we have always applied the highest standards to our own corporate responsibility for the protection of our environment," explains Dr Dennis Kruse, Managing Director of Deutsche Windguard. For example, the company headquartered in Varel, Lower Saxony, covers a large part of its electricity requirements with the help of its own photovoltaic systems, operates its large wind tunnel in Bremerhaven with its own wind turbine and has reduced its paper consumption by 50 per cent in the last two years.

At the same time as the ISO 14001 certification, the recertification of the management system for occupational health and safety in accordance with ISO 45001:2018 was also on the programme during the audit at the beginning of September 2024, Deutsche Windguard announced.

"The Deutsche Windguard Group demonstrated a very high level of awareness of environmental protection, occupational health and safety across all organisational units, departments and employees," says Christian Kockler, TÜV Austria, "the integrated management system impresses with its high level of maturity and many state-of-the-art solutions."
