New Energy Systems: Siemens Energy and Vgbe Energy e.V. Cooperate on Labeling of Technical Systems

Essen, Germany - A uniform system for labeling technical systems across all industries is of great importance for the assignment and identification of machines and plants. Systematically structured abbreviations of such a plant identification system support, for example, the planning and construction of plants as well as their smooth and safe operation.

Operating, maintenance and repair costs can be reduced with such systems, operating errors can be avoided, and occupational safety is also strengthened as a result.

For power plants, the "Power Plant Identification System - KKS" and the "Reference Designation System RDS-PP®" are among the world leaders. Siemens Energy and the technical association of energy plant operators Vgbe Energy e.V. have now agreed to further develop the two proven labeling systems KKS and RDS-PP® in closer cooperation. In addition to thermal power plants, this applies to all important types of energy plants such as wind power plants, photovoltaic installations, power-2-X plants or hydropower plants

The cooperation will also be expanded to include standardised plant documentation, based on the Vgbe rules and recommendations. This plant documentation is based, among other things, on the plant identification and is an important interface between manufacturers and operators of energy plants.
