660 MW Wind Power Capacity: RWE Awards Vestas a Firm Contract For The Offshore Wind Project Nordseecluster A in Germany

Aarhus, Denmark - The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received a firm order to supply offshore wind turbines for RWE's Nordseecluster A project.

The North Sea Cluster will be realized in two phases - North Sea Cluster A and B. For the first phase of the project, Vestas will supply 44 flagship V236-15.0 MW wind turbines with a capacity of 15 MW each and will be responsible for the delivery and commissioning of the turbines. Upon completion, Vestas will maintain the turbines under a 5-year service contract and a subsequent operational support contract.

North Sea Cluster B will add a further 900 MW of capacity, for which Vestas and RWE currently have a conditional order for 60 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines. "We are pleased to be involved in this important project for the European offshore wind industry, which also reflects our commitment to promoting clean energy solutions. Vestas remains committed to leading the change towards a more sustainable future," says Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Northern & Central Europe. "We thank RWE for the great collaboration over several years to make this project a reality and our entire team is looking forward to realizing the North Sea Cluster."

The North Sea cluster is located around 50 km north of the island of Juist in the German North Sea. The wind turbines for North Sea Cluster A are expected to be delivered in 2026.
