Dresden (renewablepress) - VSB, an internationally active developer and operator of renewable energy projects, will showcase photovoltaic projects from Germany, Italy and Poland at Intersolar Europe in Munich from 23 to 25 June 2026. The focus is on integrated project concepts that combine different technologies with site-specific land use.

In addition to its core business in onshore wind, the VSB Group is steadily expanding its photovoltaic pipeline across Europe. One current example in Germany is the Löberitz solar park, with an installed capacity of 19.99 MWp on an area of around 16 hectares. Commissioning is scheduled for February 2027. A key feature in Löberitz is the hybrid concept with an adjacent 21.6 MW wind farm, which is being constructed in parallel. In addition, the project is designed for the future integration of a battery energy storage system. Located directly along the A9 motorway, the site also stands out as a highly visible, motorway-side PV installation.

In Poland, VSB is constructing its largest solar project to date: the Brzezinka solar park with 303 MWp of PV capacity combined with a 106 MW battery storage system. This makes the plant one of the largest solar projects in the country. The project covers around 260 hectares – an area equivalent to approximately 360 football pitches – and features a high-voltage grid connection of up to 400 kV as well as a 132 kV cable route of about 46 kilometres. Around 15 percent of the mounting structures have already been installed, while fencing, cable laying and the build-out of the grid infrastructure are progressing in parallel.

From 2027 onwards, VSB will expand its activities in Italy with the development of a new photovoltaic plant. The 36 MWp Francofonte project in Sicily has already received full regional approval. The plant is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2028.

Thomas Winkler, Managing Director of VSB Germany, explains: “Solar power remains a key pillar of an affordable, resilient and increasingly regional energy supply in Germany. The crucial point is to design projects in such a way that they are not only permitting-compliant, but also economically viable in the long term, grid-friendly and compatible with responsible land use.”

Dr Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group, adds: “What Europe needs now in energy and industrial policy is implementation speed, investment certainty and modern infrastructure. Renewable energies deliver their greatest value when they are planned systemically combining clean generation, storage capability, regional value creation and industrial competitiveness.”
