EDF Energies Nouvelles signs a power purchase agreement for a 201 MW wind energy project in the United States

Paris, France - enXco, the US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, announces the signing of a power purchase agreement with US utility Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL).

This 20-year agreement covers the sale of the electricity generated by the 201 MW Lakefield wind farm to be built in southwestern Minnesota.

The Lakefield facility, which will be developed, built and owned by enXco, will consist of 134 1.5 MW turbines supplied by US manufacturer GE Energy. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010. This project is subject to the approval of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) as well as the Minnesota Public Utility Commission (MPUC). This agreement follows on from a first contract signed with IPL for the 106 MW Hoosier wind farm, currently being built in Indiana. This new project will strengthen the Group
