Nordex Records Strong Increase In Order Receipts - Share Climbs

Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex was able to significantly increase its order intake year-on-year both in the third quarter of 2021 and in the first nine months. From June to September 2021, Nordex received orders for 389 (Q3 2020: 271) wind turbines with a capacity of 1,829 MW (Q3 2020: 1,229 MW).

In the first nine months of 2021 (January to September), the Nordex Group generated an order intake (excluding service business) of 4,610 MW, (9M/2020: 3,759 MW), which includes a high share of around 80 percent of the Delta4000 series.

The largest single order in the third quarter came from Australia: for the MacIntyre wind farm project, Nordex is to supply 162 turbines of the N163/5.X class with a rated output of 923 MW. In addition, orders came in from eleven other European countries. The largest individual markets were Germany, France, Ukraine, Ireland and Poland.

"In addition to the major order from Australia, we again benefitted from our strong market position in Europe. In this context, the good demand for our Delta4000 series resumes continuously on a high level. Especially for the European markets we expect this to continue also supported by our recently presented turbine for the 6 MW+ class, the N163/6.X," says José Luis Blanco, CEO of the Nordex Group.

Nordex stock, which is listed in the global stock index RENIXX World, last week gained 15.2 percent to EUR 15.17 in last weeks trading. On the first two days of the current trading week, the momentum has slowed down again somewhat. The stock is currently trading at EUR 14.71, down by 3 percent (Oct. 19, 2021, 3 p.m., Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
