Anniversary: 25 Years Of Windtest Grevenbroich GmbH - 23 Years Of Test Field Operation

Grevenbroich, Germany - Since October 1996, Windtest Grevenbroich GmbH has been successfully offering a wide range of services in the field of renewable energies. These include measurements of power performance, loads, electrical characteristics and acoustic noise as well as site evaluations to establish site quality, wind, yield or shadow impact.

The team of Windtest Grevenbroich GmbH advises developers, project planners, banks and insurance companies, is involved in national and international standardization committees and working groups, and plays a leading role in the MEASNET and IECRE cooperation. The international team of Windtest Grevenbroich GmbH now speaks 14 languages.

In addition to the test field in the immediate vicinity of the company headquarters, Windtest Grevenbroich GmbH owns and operates several test sites. Since the company was founded, Windtest Grevenbroich has completed more than 7,300 projects worldwide over the past 25 years and has had a subsidiary in the USA since 2014.

" The trust from our customers and partners is the basis for 25 years of successful business. Since 1996, windtest grevenbroich gmbh holds its claim of providing its services in the highest quality and for the maximum benefit of its customers. These values also became the basis for the successful launch of the subsidiary Windtest North-America Inc. in 2014", says Monika Krämer, who took over the position of Managing Director in 2004. Thanks to its customers and partners, Windtest Grevenbroich GmbH has been able to develop into one of the leading measurement and testing service providers in the renewable energy sector, Krämer added.

One of the technical highlights of the last 25 years was the installation of the first wind turbine on the company's own test site in Grevenbroich (Neurather Höhe) in 1998. Since the test site was commissioned, a total of 16 prototypes of modern wind turbines have been erected, tested and measured. For 23 years, the test site in Grevenbroich has thus been a pioneer for technical innovations and a flagship for the energy sector, according to Windtest.

In addition, the first own FRT container was put into operation in 2011, significantly expanding the company's competence in the field of grid measurements. Then, in 2013, the verification station for remote sensing systems went into operation at the company's own test field. Since 2017, the first IECRE conformity has been in place for the competence areas of power curve measurement and stress measurement. In 2020, IECRE conformity was also confirmed for two further competence areas (acoustic noise measurement and electrical characteristics testing / power quality measurement).
