Siemens Gamesa Receives 105 MW Order For Finland From Energiequelle

Zamudio, Spain - Wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa has been awarded a contract to supply wind turbines for the Mikonkeidas wind farm in Finland. The installation of the 16 SG 6.6-170 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.6 MW, is expected to take place in the first half of 2024.

For Siemens Gamesa, this is the first order from Energiequelle. Michael Raschemann, Managing Director at Energiewquelle: "We are convinced that Siemens Gamesa is the best suitable partner for our Mikonkeidas wind energy project, and we are looking forward to a successful cooperation with one of the world’s leading wind energy turbine and service providers."

Wind energy in Finland is experiencing strong growth. From January to yesterday (24.10.2022), Finnish wind turbines have already generated and fed 8.9 billion kWh of wind power into the electricity grids, according to ENTSO-E data (same period last year: 5.9 billion kWh). This is an increase of 51 percent. In the entire previous year 2021, wind power generation in Finland reached 7.8 billion kWh.
