Full Maintenance: Deutsche Windtechnik Concludes Maintenance Contracts For First Enercon Turbines in France
Bremen, Germany - Deutsche Windtechnik has signed its first service contracts for the maintenance of four wind farms with Enercon wind turbines in France. The new contracts have a term of five years with he option of extension.
16 of the 22 turbines are located at the Maisnieres, Méautis-Auvers and Saucourt wind farms in northern France. The wind farm site with the remaining 6 turbines, operated by an unnamed utility, is also located in the north of France.
With the new contracts, a total of 824 Enercon turbines in five countries are now currently being managed by Deutsche Windtechnik, mostly under full maintenance criteria.
"We want to operate our wind turbines as long and sustainably as possible. That is why preventive maintenance is very important to us. The service contracts with Deutsche Windtechnik are designed for a maximum service life of 30 years", says IWB Energie France Managing Director Clea Hamm about the long-term strategy.
"We are very happy that we can now offer our Enercon service competencies in France as well. We began taking care of important issues affecting some of the turbines during special deployments at the end of last year", said Sofiane Lesbet, Managing Director of the French unit Deutsche Windtechnik, welcoming the new agreements.
For Deutsche Windtechnik, a preventive approach is of great importance in the context of wind turbine maintenance. That is, technicians do not become active only when a part is broken and the turbine has to be taken offline. Instead, the condition of crucial components is checked during every maintenance deployment and monitored around the clock. In this way, it is possible to evaluate at an early stage which "life-extending" measures are important to ensure operation in the medium term but also, if strategic planning calls for it, in the long term, Lesbet continues.
