Transaction: Qualitas Energy Buys Duno Air's 1.4-GW Onshore Wind Business in Germany
Berlin, Germany - Qualitas Energy has completed the acquisition of the German onshore wind development business of Duno Air Windpark Planung GmbH (Duno Air). Based in Trier, Germany, Duno Air is a full-service company focused on the design and construction of wind turbines.
Both companies expect to benefit from the positive synergies resulting from their respective renewable energy expertise. According to Qualitas Energy, Duno Air's organizational structure will be maintained, and the company will also continue to operate under the same brand.
"Qualitas Energy continues to invest in the acquisition of German and international renewable energy projects, and this represents a major step towards our goal of becoming one of the key platforms in the German market," said Daniel Parejo, Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Qualitas Energy, welcoming the transaction.
"I have enjoyed working on this transaction over the past year and I think we have come to a great result. With this transaction successfully completed, we will now focus on developing wind farms outside Germany, particularly in South Africa," said Niels Ploeg, Head of Expansion at Duno Air Group. Duno Air Windverwaltung GmbH, Duno Air Windpark Management BV, Duno Air Stromhandels GmbH, Duno Air International BV are not part of this transaction. Duno Air International BV will focus on markets outside Germany in the future.
Qualitas Energy was advised by Dentons (tax, legal) and Augusta & Co (financial). Duno Air was advised by Greencap Partners (financial) and Ashurst (legal).
Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH is part of the Qualitas Energy Group, which focuses on the acquisition, financing and project development as well as the construction and operation of onshore wind power plants with a team of more than 160 employees at its locations in Berlin, Hamburg, Wiesbaden and soon Stuttgart.
