Baltic Wind Market: Dirkshof Hands Over Turnkey 67.5 MW Wind Farm in Estonia
Reußenköge, Germany - Dirkshof, a company from Reußenköge in Schleswig-Holstein that has been active in the wind energy sector for over 30 years, has also been operating internationally for some time now. One of the company's markets is Estonia.
The construction was carried out in cooperation with local and international partners under the management of Dirkshof Estonia OÜ. The project was financed in equal parts by NordLB and Swedbank.
There are 15 Vestas V150 wind turbines at the site, each with a capacity of 4.5 MW. The turbines have been fully operational since March 2024 and have now been officially handed over to the operating company Aidu Windpark (AWP).
“We are pleased to support Estonia in this way to stabilize the energy situation through renewable energies. We would like to expressly thank all the partners and companies involved for their good and constructive cooperation. It is not a matter of course to get a project of this size connected to the grid in such a short time,” said Dirk Ketelsen, CEO Dirkshof Estonia OÜ, on the occasion of the project handover.
The Aidu wind farm is expected to generate an annual yield of 12 million kWh per turbine, resulting in a total energy yield of around 180 million kWh per year for the entire wind farm. According to Dirkshof, this is enough to supply around 40,000 households with electricity. It will also make a valuable, sustainable contribution to Estonia achieving its ambitious renewable energy targets, as the company points out.
