Enercon Signs Framework Agreement for More Than 440 MW in Canada: Delivery of new E-175 EP5 E2 Wind Turbines to Start in 2027
Aurich (Germany) – Wind turbine manufacturer Enercon has signed a framework agreement for more than 440 MW with an undisclosed customer in Canada. The agreement covers the supply of more than 60 E-175 EP5 E2 wind turbines for several onshore wind projects. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027.
The turbines planned for Canada will be equipped with a Cold Climate package and a blade heating system to enable operation under extreme weather conditions. According to Enercon, the turbines also fully meet all Canadian certification requirements.
Enercon CEO Udo Bauer described the agreement as an important step in the company’s market strategy: “This framework agreement shows: The E-175 EP5 E2 is the optimal fit for the Canadian market. Canada is a key strategic market for Enercon. With the E-175 EP5 E2, we are bringing our most advanced turbine platform to a country where we have built Long standing partnerships and deep operational experience over the past 25 years."
The E-175 EP5 E2 was recently awarded the gold medal in the “Turbines of the Year” category by industry magazine Windpower Monthly, further strengthening the platform’s international recognition.
