Nordex Group Lifts Q2 Order Intake 32 Percent to 3.1 GW on Stable Prices, Shares Rise
Hamburg – German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex continues to see strong demand driven by the international expansion of wind energy. The Nordex Group recorded a significantly higher order intake in the second quarter of 2026 than in the same period last year, further strengthening its position in its core markets of Germany, the United States and Turkey. Price levels remained stable over the period.
Major Orders from the Three Strongest Markets
Nordex Group recorded order intake of 3,054 MW in the second quarter, up 32.2 percent from the same quarter last year (Q2 2025: 2,310 MW). For the first half of the year, order intake totaled 4,923 MW, an increase of 9.6 percent compared with the prior-year period (H1 2025: 4,492 MW). Between April and June, customers ordered a total of 496 wind turbines for projects in ten countries.
Among the major orders Nordex has reported in recent weeks was a late-June order from German project developer UKA (Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen) for a total of 100 turbines of the N175/6.X and N163/6.X types, with combined capacity of around 700 MW. The turbines are destined for projects in several German states. In addition to turbine supply, the individual orders include multi-year service and maintenance agreements. The UKA order is based on EEG contract awards from the auction rounds held in August 2025 and February 2026.
Despite significant political headwinds from Washington – the US government has halted several offshore wind farms by executive order and delayed permitting procedures for numerous onshore projects at the federal level – wind energy expansion in the US is continuing at the state level, including in Texas, Oklahoma and Iowa. Nordex is benefiting from this trend: order intake from the US totaled around 809 MW in the second quarter. The company had already reported three orders totaling 484 MW on June 22, followed by a further order for 325 MW covering 55 turbines of the N163/5.X type at the end of June. Customer and project names were not disclosed in either case; manufacturing takes place at Nordex's US site in Iowa.
In Turkey, long-standing customer Eksim Enerji ordered 16 turbines of the N175/6.X type with a combined capacity of 110 MW in May for the Balikesir-3 wind farm in Balikesir province, along with a ten-year service agreement. Eksim Enerji says it operates a wind energy portfolio of around 833 MW and has been a Nordex customer since 2010.
Stable Prices and the Strategic Importance of the US Market
The average selling price remained stable at EUR 0.97 million per MW in the second quarter, while the first-half average rose from EUR 0.92 million to EUR 0.95 million per MW. The group places particular emphasis on its US business. CEO José Luis Blanco called it an important milestone: "With an order intake of around 800 megawatts in the US this quarter, we've reached an important milestone. It reflects the trust our customers place in us and the strength of our organisation in the American market. We remain focused on reliable execution as we continue to grow alongside our customers-"
Nordex Share Price Rises
After a marked decline over the first three trading days of the week – the share price fell from EUR 45.90 to EUR 41.14, a drop of 10.4 percent – the Nordex share price rose again on Thursday, up 4.4 percent to close at EUR 42.96 (July 9, 2026, closing price, Börse Stuttgart). Compared with the closing price at the turn of the year (EUR 29.18 on December 30, 2025), the share is up around 47 percent.
