PNE Strengthens Project Pipeline with New Wind Farm Permits in Germany

Cuxhaven — German wind energy developer PNE Group is advancing the expansion of its wind energy portfolio in Germany, backed by a series of permits granted under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) in the first half of 2026.

PNE received permits for five wind energy projects during the period, with a combined capacity of around 188 megawatts. The permits cover the sites Beerfelde in Brandenburg, Ehren in Lower Saxony, Balver Wald in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Gebstedt/Willerstedt expansion in Thuringia, and the Gardelegen repowering project in Saxony-Anhalt. Each project has now advanced to the next development phase toward implementation.

The largest single project is the Beerfelde wind farm, with 14 planned turbines and a total capacity of around 100 MW. The Ehren wind farm is being developed as a cooperation project with a regional Volksbank; of the four planned turbines with a combined capacity of around 29 MW, one is attributable to PNE. At Gebstedt/Willerstedt, two additional turbines with a combined capacity of around 14 MW were approved, extending the existing Gebstedt wind farm, which PNE is developing jointly with EDF Power Solutions. At the Gardelegen repowering project, the number of turbines will decrease from six to four, while total capacity will rise to 24 MW, with electricity output significantly higher than under the existing installation.

"The permits granted are an important step in implementing our corporate strategy," said Roland Stanze, COO of PNE. According to the company, the high number of permits granted in the first half of the year is encouraging, with the next step being to advance implementation and further strengthen PNE's position as a Clean Energy Solutions Provider.
