Nordex Wins Order for Community Wind Projects in Lower Saxony
Hamburg — The Nordex Group has secured a contract to supply and install twelve wind turbines for several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony. The order was placed by EFG Energy Farming Gruppe, based in Bad Essen in the Osnabrück district.
At the Erlte-Endel wind farm, Nordex is installing five N175/6.X turbines on hybrid towers with a hub height of 179 meters. At the Bad Essen cluster, Nordex will erect a total of seven turbines, comprising five N175/6.X units on 179-meter towers and two N163/6.X units with a hub height of 164 meters. The turbines are spread across four projects: Langewiesen-Nord, Langewiesen-Süd, Rabber Wiesen, and the Wimmerbruch repowering project.
Initial infrastructure work is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026, with construction planned for 2027 and commissioning set for spring 2028. The plants will be operated by landowners and regional citizen wind associations.
EFG Energy Farming, headquartered in Bad Essen, has been developing, realizing and operating wind energy projects in northwestern Germany for many years.
Nordex shares, listed on the renewable energy stock index RENIXX World, were up 1.1 percent at EUR 39.52 as of 1:31 p.m. on August 14, 2026, on the Stuttgart Stock Exchange. This represents a gain of 35 percent since the start of the year.
