Nordex Sharply Increases Order Intake as Türkiye, Germany and US Drive Business

Hamburg – Onshore wind turbine manufacturer Nordex booked more new project orders in the third quarter of 2026 than in the same period a year earlier. The strongest individual markets were Türkiye, Germany and the US.

Europe’s wind market is on course for a record year, according to WindEurope: 8.8 GW of wind capacity was installed in the first half of 2026, 30 percent more than in the same period last year. The association expects around 24 GW for the full year. The US wind market is also continuing to grow, according to Wood Mackenzie, despite delays in Pentagon approvals.

Nordex Order Intake: 2,810 MW in Third Quarter, 7,733 MW After Nine Months

Nordex recorded total order intake of 2,810 MW in the Projects segment, excluding Service business, between July and September 2026, compared with 2,170 MW in the third quarter of 2025. This represents a year-on-year increase of 29.5 percent. The orders comprise 427 wind turbines for projects in 10 countries. In the first nine months of the year, order intake totalled 7,733 MW, up 16.1 percent from 6,661 MW in the same period a year earlier.

The average selling price per megawatt of capacity was EUR 0.90 million in the third quarter, compared with EUR 0.93 million in the prior-year quarter. For the first nine months, the figure stands at EUR 0.93 million per MW, against EUR 0.92 million in the same period of 2025. Nordex attributes the changes primarily to project size and regional order mix, and points to a stable pricing environment overall.

Türkiye Is Nordex’s Largest Market in Third Quarter

Türkiye was Nordex’s strongest individual market in the third quarter, with order volume of more than 900 MW. The company has been active there for years and has a cumulative market share of 34 percent as of August 2026, according to the company.

Germany and the US also contributed significantly to order intake. In the United States, Nordex has booked orders of more than 1.3 GW since the beginning of the year.

“Our order intake is becoming more globally diversified, and the third quarter confirms this,” said José Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex. He expects the international share to keep growing as Nordex converts its pipeline into orders in the coming quarters, while order intake in Europe and Germany remains strong, according to Blanco.

Türkiye: Record Installations in 2025, Target of 120 GW Wind and Solar by 2035

Türkiye is pursuing ambitious long-term expansion targets for renewable energy. According to WindEurope’s autumn report, onshore wind capacity of 297 MW was installed in Türkiye in the first half of 2026, with total capacity at 16,232 MW at the end of June. The association expects a further 1.6 GW in the second half, which would bring the 2026 total to around 1.9 GW. Installations reached a record 2,141 MW in 2025, according to the wind energy association TÜREB. Wind and solar combined are to grow to 120,000 MW by 2035. For wind energy, the Energy Ministry plans annual capacity allocations of 2,000 to 2,500 MW over the same period, according to TÜREB President Ibrahim Erden. The “Super Permit” law, in force since July 2025, is intended to shorten permitting procedures for renewable energy projects.

US: Wind Market Grows Despite Headwinds – ACP Says More Than 250 Projects Stalled at Pentagon

Further wind energy expansion is also expected in the US. According to the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the US installed 6.9 GW of wind capacity in 2025, the second-highest figure worldwide behind China. In its latest market report, Wood Mackenzie raised its outlook to more than 53 GW of capacity additions through 2030, including offshore wind and repowering, attributing the high level of construction activity to the deadline for tax credits. According to the American Clean Power Association (ACP), the US industry group that represents wind and solar developers, headwinds are coming from the Pentagon: in early May, reviews of more than 250 onshore projects on private land with a combined capacity of at least 30 GW stalled, the association said. The Pentagon said it is actively reviewing the projects. “Despite current headwinds, the fundamentals supporting US wind growth remain compelling,” said Diego Espinosa, Senior Research Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, in the spring.
