Nordex affirms contracts with South Africa and Norway

Hamburg, Germany - The wind turbine manufacturer Nordex announced a 51.5 MW contract with Norway as well as its status as a qualified provider for the construction of two wind farms in South Africa. The contract with the customer Midtfjellet Vindkraft, which is owned by utility

The "Midtfjellet" wind farm with an installed capacity of 51.5 MW is being built on the Norwegian island of Stord. The installment of the project is to commence in summer 2012, with completion scheduled for 2013.

Currently outstanding contracts still have to be signed in South Africa. The contract includes two turnkey projects with an installed capacity of a combined 174 MW. The first project "Dorper" comprises 40 N100 plants and is to be installed in the South African inland. The second wind farm "Kouga" with 32 N90 turbines will be built inshore near Port Elizabeth. The construction is scheduled for mid 2013, customer transfer for 2014.
