Strong Project Pipeline: Wpd Refinances Taiwanese Onshore Wind farms Luwei And Chungwei

Bremen, Germany - Bremen-based developer and operator of wind and solar farms Wpd has been active in the renewable energy sector in Taiwan since 2005, with its own team since 2016.

At the end of August 2023, Wpd and its co-partner of project companies have successfully completed the refinancing of the Luwei and Chungwei onshore wind farms in Taiwan.

The project companies Luwei Wind Power Co, Ltd (Luwei) and Chungwei Wind Power Co, Ltd (Chungwei) comprise a total of 78 wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 180 MW.

Refinancing for the Luwei and Chungwei wind farms was provided by two Taiwanese banks and two Taiwanese branches of international banks.

We recognized the enormous opportunities in Taiwan early on and have established ourselves as an integral part of Taiwan's energy transition. The promising pipelines for wind and solar energy projects confirm our strong position. We are here to stay!", says Ralf Ketteler, Head of International Project Finance at Wpd.

Wpd Taiwan is well positioned with experienced teams and currently around 90 local professionals to realize the project pipeline of 260 MW of wind onshore and 55 MWp of PV projects.
