Growth Market Sweden: Nordex Receives Major Order For Four Swedish Wind Farms - Association Forecasts 20,000 MW of Wind Power Capacity by 2026

Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has received another major order at the end of 2023. Nordex will supply wind turbines for four wind farms in Sweden with a total capacity of 553 MW for the investment company Renewable Power Capital.

In spring 2025, the Nordex Group will start with the delivery and installation of the 80 turbines, 74 of which will be of type N163/6.X and six of type N149/5.X for the "High Coast" wind farm cluster. High Coast comprises four wind fields: Knäsjöberget (98 MW), Sörlidberget (140 MW) Vitberget (161 MW) and Storhöjden (154 MW), all of which are being built in the province of Västerorrlands Län.

"We are proud to be involved in this important wind cluster with our turbines and to once again be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of our anti-icing technology in such a demanding climatological setting," says Patxi Landa, Chief Sales Officer of the Nordex Group. "High Coast will broaden our experience with large-scale projects in Sweden and help us to consolidate our position as a leading provider of wind turbines in Scandinavia. We are very pleased to be working with Renewable Power Capital for the first time."

According to the Swedish wind energy association Svensk Vindenergi, the expansion of wind energy in Sweden will continue in the coming years. Base on the latest forecast from September 30, 2023, wind power output is set to increase from around 16,500 MW (2023) to almost 20,000 MW by 2026. Electricity generation from wind energy in Sweden will climb from the current 34.5 billion kWh (2023) to 56 billion kWh of wind power in 2026.
